treading my tank for desiese

iv got a fluval 204 with activated carbon in it. when i put a cheical in will it just remove it b4 it helps my fish. should i remove it from the filter for the time being untill iv tread the desiese

Yes, remove the carbon. Most meds instruct you to do so anyway.

What are you treating it with? What's wrong with the fish? What kind of fish is it? What other fishes are in the tank?

From what I understand, if your carbon is older than 6 days, it won't make much difference. Most medications suggest taking it out, though.

iv got guppies and it looks like 1 has tail rot.

take the carbon out , do a 20 to 30 % water change , treat the tank . when fish become ill , a 10 to 20 % a day , I.M.O can only help .
