Trap door thingy

What is this in the first three pics? It appeared overnight on a four month old peice of LR, it appears to be part of the rock.

Looks like a bivalve to me.

We have 3 of these on one rock in our 135 tank and never new for sure what they were. Is there anything special you have to do for them?

Im with nav, looks like a bivalve to me. They filter feed, so if they have established themselves in your tank you probably wouldnt need to do any more for them.

A sump would be beneficial if you had one. You could place them in a sump if you didnt want them in your main display.

definitly looks like some sort of bivalve, if you deside to move it be sure it gets enough current, assuming its still alive, it looked a bit empty to me.

Yer it is empty, and has been since it opened up.
