I have a 10 gallon that has WAY too much gravel in it. I stupidly followed what they told me at the pet store when I set it up 6 months ago, and added 1lb per gallon (actually 13 pounds because of the size bag they recommended). I am going to set up a new tank for my sailfin babies to grow in. I'm going to get a ten gallon just for a fry tank. If I took 1/2 of the gravel out of my other 10 gallon, would that have enough bacteria in it so that I wouldn't have to cycle it?
