Transferring fish into new home?

I have a question about moving fish to a bigger tank.
I will be getting a 55-60Gal soon and will want to put certain fish from my 16Gal in there.
I am just wondering the proper way of doing it (once the tank has done it's fishless cycle of course).

since the water comes from the same source, ph should be simular if not the same
therefore it shouldn't be all that hard

just ask your lfs for some baggies, and once the tank is FULLY cycles, net the fish and float them in baggies, the same as when you get them from the store.
then let water in a little at a time, mixing the tank and bag water with 5-10 minute gaps in between
after abou the 3rd time gently release (dump ) the fish into your new tank
there will be little to know stress if you do it right

So i'm guessing i can't just use the net to transfer them.

well chances are your tanks are different temperatures and one or the other may have a slight bit of nitrate
it would be much easier on you and your fish not to take a chance
its easy
net them, bag them, float them and dump them
