Well I goto bed last night after my regular water change in my Kenyi tank, get it all nice and done, and go to sleep. I wake up to feed them and go to school.

I come home to find my fish dead. All of them.

My water was dechlorinated when I did the water change and my water conditions were nothing less than perfect. I have no clue what could have killed them all...

I am so heatbroken right now as this tank and fish were my pride and joy which the fish I've kept since tiny fry. I don't know what could have went wrong in 7 hours of school.

Somebody comfort me :(

I'm so sorry. How absolutely horrible. I feel awful for ya :/

What did you do out of the norm,do something with a chemical on your hands before feeding...is your heater cracked or broken? Something is the cause of this. It's best to figure it out before you start over.

I am very sad to read this. :-(
:rip: :fish: :fish: :byebye:

As Wuv has suggested try to work out what
caused this terrible incident to occur.

I did nothing out of the normal tank wise.

OMG WAIT!!!!

I CLEANED CARPETS TODAY WITH THAT POWDER CLEANER! YOU VACUUM IT UP AND IT CLEANS AND KILLS GERMS AND WHAT NOT! MY FISH ROOM HAS VENTS IN THE FLOOR FOR AIR CONDITIONING!!! THAT WOULD HAVE TO BE THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF!

I AM NOT TO HAPPY WITH MYSELF AT ALL! :(

sounds baaaad brother man. although may not be all your fault, a friend of mine had the exact same situation recently, after investigation it turned out the heater had cracked at some point and eventually the water seeped in and bang ! fish dead, house elecs dusted ! Check for even smallest hairline cracks.

I am not following the order, did you clean the carpets today or last night (before or after the water change)? At any rate, I seriously doubt that this would have killed your fish, unless they were all weakened to start with. You would need to have added a lot of the carpet cleaner directly into the tank in order to have a mass kill in your tank. A bit of vented powder probably didn't do it, especially as most of these powders are very heavy so are not prone to being airborn to get into vents in the first place. I'd check your equipment first, or maybe consider if you had chemicals/soap or something on your hands, or if your water change equipment somehow got "infected" with something.

aww thats terrible

hope you find out what caused it, and dont lose heart, think how many fishies you can give long and happy lives in the future, they will be sad without you :(

There is no way the carpet cleaner could have gotten into the tank. :(

I don't know what heppend. I decided to tear the tank down and start all over. Cleaned everything!

Probably going to do NW Cichlids
