Planning to buy some TNP and EasyCarbo for my tank, but which version of TPN should I get?

From what I understand, TPN+ just has added nitrate and phosphate. I have fish/shrimp (and a snail issue atm  ) in the tank and my tapwater also tends to have a relatively high nitrate reading, so would these things combined produce sufficient nitrate/phosphate without adding more through ferts?

Thanks :)

EDIT: Just remembered...
I have echinodoras and vallis in my tank, which I have heard are heavy root feeders. Would they benefit more from root tabs than liquid fertilizer? My substrate isn't too deep though, and I have heard root tabs should be at least 4 cm under, so would they be fine to use? I just have a regular sand substrate.

My other plants are anubias and hygrophila (and marimo balls, though I can't imagine they'll benefit much from ferts with them being such slow growers), so would both root tabs and liquid ferts be a good idea, or would one or the other be sufficient?

Hi
if you are going to use Easycarbo then you will need TPN+ (this contains everything, not just N &P)
Your fish/shrimp/water may provide enough N & P, but as soon as you start adding carbon the plants will demand more nutrients, so dosing is advised.
Vallis & easycarbo can be tricky, if you dose as per the bottle, you should be OK.However IME as soon as you stop adding the carbon the Vallis will melt.

I don't use root tabs, so can't help much with that.Anubias & Hygrophila's will take nutrients out of the water column though.

Thanks for the info - I had thought TNP+ just contained Macros. The plants growing due to CO2 and therefore needing more nutrients makes complete sense, I had never thought of that :good:
