Just interested in how people are getting on with them now that the initial interest seems to have calmed down. What are you keeping them with and how do they get on? I have mine with Congo tetras and find only problem is that they seem to love crickets etc even more than the archers and are often quicker! Has anybody noticed any difference in appearance/behaviour if they have bought from more than one source? Would be great to hear from anybody keeping them :good:

Hey roddy! Nice find you have there! I dont have any personal experience with them but i am setting up my 65 gallon for a group of Toxotes microlepis. In terms of the feeding maybe try putting in a food that the Congo tetras prefer even more in first before the crickets? Kinda like distracting them before they see the crickets, giving the archers a chance to snatch the crickets? Ive read of many archer keepers with the same problem...

Really pleased with them. Much prettier in the flesh than most of the pictures, with a much more golden colour. Looking forward to see how they develop, they certainly seem more gentle with each other than other types. Will try distracting the congoes but very concious of food going in to tank. On the plus side the congoes are looking great and terrific to see them displaying to each other.

Be interested to hear about your T Micolepes too, how many you thinking of? I have four which have grown really quickly, never had any trouble feeding them. They used to argue a lot but now are very settled although there is a very obvious pecking order.

Nice! I'd love some Toxotes Blythiis as well but unfortunately and fortunately my lfs can only get microlepis..lol Congo tetras are beautiful and so are your archers, love thier unique patterns too! I was thinking 5-6 in my 65g in terms of the microlepis....with possibly some rainbows or something of that nature. Love to see pics of you archers!

Reckon 5/6 with one of the bigger rainbows would look really good, might go that way once the silver scats I have with mine are big enough to join the T Jaculatrix. Really do need to get some pics on, not excuse apart from the fact they wont stay still :grr:

hahaha nice! Ive always liked scats, look really cool like a discus combined with a tuna or something...lol How large is your tank with the T Jaculatrix?

Do like the scats, the silver ones are without doubt nicer and much better tempered than the S argus. The T jaculatrix are in a 6x2x2 along with a couple of T chatareus. I bought them all at the same time but the T chatareus are now double the size of the T jaculatrix. No idea why and there is never any hassle between them. Have to say the T jaculatrix are a close second to my favourites

The interest may have calmed down but the prices haven't
My lfs has them for £75 each.

Ouch, that wouldn't have you rushing to make up a shoal in your tank
