Please help! I was given two motorbike frogs and a tank for free by a lady I was buying another large tank from. She was sick of keeping them. Another thing she said was that one of the adults (she used to have three, a pair and a baby) had escaped through a hole in the flyscreen lid and "she can't be stuffed going behing the cabinet to look for him, he can live or die whatever". Which made me want to "rescue" them...
I've found a website that someone else on this forum provided me that talks all about motorbike frogs, but still have one (stupid??) question I'm too embarrased to ask in the Amphibians forum (mods please feel free to move it there if deemed necessary)
The question is, can frogs bury themselves in sand/mud?? I've repaired the flyscreen but haven't seen the mummy frog for a few days now, I've been lifting up all the rocks and other ornaments and fake lily pad in there and I'm getting kind of worried and perplexed
I have NO IDEA where she could have gone as the flyscreen is on at all times, is tight fitting, and I'm VERY careful when opening the lid to feed or look at them/it...
(I wish there was a crying icon as I wanna cry with worry...)
PS. The motorbike frog is actually native to my area. Might it be more humane to release it at my local pond containing ducks and ibises?
