Torn Pectorals...getting Worse

Kogen ripped his pectorals a coupla weeks back, ive been on top of is water changes and added salt etc, but his fins are getting smaller and more ripped. think hes got fin rot (is this common in pectoral fins?)..the only meds i have at the moment is methylene blue?

I wouldnt usually worry about fin rot but im a little concerned because its his 'swimming' fins

I would try a med by waterlife called myxazin.

thanks wilder, i think he'll be ok until i get it..its just disheartening seeing him loosing a bit more fin each day

Yep it's bacterial finrot, needs treating fast, good luck.

added myxazin a minute ago..bottle only states minimum treatment as 2.5ml for 16gal so ive just used a pippette and added 1ml.he's quite chipper today, being his usual self.

bottle says to treat for upto 5days..so i'll see how it goes.

i know annie!! he's doing ok..no more fins missing since i put the myxazin in and he's eating ok. i got an lsf betta a wile ago now and he's fine in his unfiltered tank..massive bubble nest n' all.

Kogen will be ok, he's getting looked after
