Hey everyone,
I have a 3G Eclipse system which currently has some white cloud minnows in it, but I want to give those to my boyfriend and put my betta (who is in a 1G bowl right now) into the Eclipse along with a divider and another betta. Do you think this is a good idea? I really want another betta, and I would rather not put it in a bowl, I'd rather put it in a nice tank with filtration and everything, but I don't want to buy a new tank! Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Diana

1 1/2 gal each would be enough, as long as you kept up the water changes. Even filtered, I'd watch the water and levels of ph, ammonia etc. 3 gal can be cycled, but it takes work and more upkeep than a larger tank.

Is anyone familiar with the Eclipse Systems? If so, do they have dividers that will fit in them. The Eclipses are an odd shape..and I wasn't sure if there were any dividers that could fit in them. Any advice would be appreciated! I want to get another betta!

If there's aren't any dividers made to fit, you can always measure the tank yourself and order custom-cut ones... or just buy some of that plastic canvas stuff from a craft store and cut it to size... cheapest divider ever! :)

The plastic canvis idea is a good one. If you don't have a craft store near you, but do have a hardware store that sells and cuts plexi glass, you could go to them with your measurements and have them cut you a piece. Then get a brand new drill bit (I wouldn't go any larger than 1/4 inch) and drill a bunch of holes (with EXTREMELY light pressure to aviod cracking the plexi) in it to allow for water flow. A piece of plixiglass that small wouldn't cost that much, but might cost more then the plastic canvis. You will just have to look around and compare prices. I have seen posts on here about the plastic canvas dividers, but right now, I have been drinking too much and am too tired and can't really see too aweful straight so can't search it out for you. Sorry :*) As a matter of fact, I am having trouble typing right now so I think I am going to just end this right now and go to bed. G'night!

i used a divider designed for a 10 gal and cut it to size for my minibow 5. easier than drilling plexiglass, but the hood doesn't lie completely flat!!
