I bought a ten gallon tank a few weeks ago. Actually almost a month. But anyways yesterday I put my female betta in there and was watching her but when I turned on the light she started freaking out and going to the bottom. when I turn it off she swims regularly...Whats happenning?

How long has she been in there? Because for my fish the first two days I get them I don't feed them or turn the light on because they are scared when the first couple days in there new tank and if I turn the light on they just hide. So I don't want to scare them and after two days I turn the light on and feed them and there fine.

She's been in there from yesterday afternoon. I'll try not feeding her for 2 days and then turning on the lights.

Thanks,Arrowhead.

Yeah, she's still just settleing in.
Let her have peace before you do anything (ex: water change, turning on the light, turning the heater up or down, ect)
