Hi All,
I was thinking is it possible to add too much declor when doing water changes i mean how much would be too much, how accurate do you have to be when adding it to the tank befor adding the tap water?

Thanks for any and all replys. :good:

I believe somewhere there have been studies/tests into how much dechlor it would take to harm the fish, its something along the lines of (really scientific answer here  ) a HECK of a lot!!!

I always double dose my full tank size of water (approx 400L) at each water change, as I change 50-70% routinely 2x weekly and refill via a hose (python), so as Im not treating the water first, I feel it safer to double dose, others that refill via hose dont do this, some do, its down to personal preference.

Are you asking because you feel you have overdosed, had an accident with dechlor or just out of interest?

I also add more then the bottel says to. Some times the water company adds more junk to the water so adding more water treatment is I think a good thing.

Only problem I see is you will have extra slimy fish. You know how slimmy that stuff is when a little gets on your hands. I sure the fish don't mind a little extra slim.
