My juwel tubes arrived and tonight is the first time I've seen my tank lit up. It's revealed something to me.

Clearly, I have a powerful clockwise circulation from my outlet filter pipe. The bubble bar is being sucked round and before the bubbles can rise, they are being circulated round making the water fizzy.

I can't turn my filter down, although I can angle the outlet round.

Is it too well oxygenated and is the water moving too fast?

Pic may help

are you able to lower the feed causing or controlling the so much bubbles?

if you feel it is too powerful you can reduce the power it by using an adjustable valve like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Control-Distributor-Aquarium-Lever-Valve/dp/B005EES4CS/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1329959481&sr=8-5 thats what I had to do and the airstone works perfectly now :good:

No unfortunately neither the filter or air pump have a control valve. However, the spray bar on the filter outlet can be removed. I've taken the bar off, on the right of the pic with the curved end. So now it's directly into the top of the tank. Problem solved :)

It's not the air pump/stone that's the issue. It's the power of the filter outlet causing a constant clockwise flow. The outlet pipe on the right has holes down the entire length to aerate the water. But also causes it to spiral given the shape of my tank. So I disconnected it at the too and let the water flow back in at the surface. I can't see an issue with that. Same volume is being filtered without too much fast flow now.

Use a peg on the air line, this way you can control the amount of air flowing through.
