i got to go to tmc (tropical marine centre) a marine wholesaler! to pick out fish for the store and a few for me along the line! and i got paid to go and pick out fish for sale in store !! was amazing i hadnt seen so many marine fish and corals/inverts infact i struggled to name a fair few!!

fish i picked out that will at some date go into my tank were:

pymgy possum wrasse

labounts fairy wrasse

peacock wrasse

carpenters or filamented flasher wrasse its one of the two!

there gonna be quarenteed and pimafixed at work or melafxed while my tank finished its mini cycle i may not get all 4 il check tomorow and see which i prefer.

twas a rather good day!

I'm so jealous. I spent all day trying to sort out a crap load of problems after some idiot nuked our download server during an upgrade and also didn't check the backup they made (which they also screwed up).

I hate technical support and REALLY would love to work in a fish store! Most people think this is kind of a weird dream job to have but I'm sure most the people on this forum understand

Fantastic fish. One word of warning, the possum wrasses are very skittish and "weak" fish. They like to hide a LOT, so if you're looking for a fish thats out in the open, not the best of chioces.

yeh il consider that! although ive heard filamented flashers will act as dither fish making shy come out into the open how true that is i do not no!

i also cant find much about the peacock wrasse i just hope there still there when i get in tomorow the guy i went with is a muppet and cant tell fish apart so picked the wrong ones to hold back fool!!!


altough on a convicting possible sales pitch i saw the possum wrasse was rather hardy though this may of been a please buy it plea by an online retailer.

theres a possibility they are i thought that, gonna have a good luck if its still there tomorow and find out! from memory it looks a bit like a blue star leopard wrasse ....


and idlefingers got to see some wonderful marines ive never witnessed before !! not a bad way to earn money reallly!

Possum wrasses are pretty hardy, just wusses Filamented flashers can also be a little "weak"

damn weak wrasses! least there all reef safe! i have a good oppertunity to follow there progress over a few days then deciede! what im not keen on we can sell or treat in quarenteen! my collect a wrasse is going well though i love em all! ... just ashame my tank stocking stops at 8.

sounds cool, any chance you can elaborate on what the place is like? do they make the equipment on site? what fish do they breed there? how come there is a huge selection are they like a mojor importer?

tmc are a major importer of marines.

they import a mass selections of fish, corals, dry goods and all that just like a massive marine wholesaler for local busineses, they have a few tank breds like damsels, clowns and seahorses i think memory a little hazy since i was just in awe of the amount of fish!!

i think they make the v2 skimmers or they ship em in and chuck tmc logo on them! more likely ship them in.

i think its next to the 6 black and white tank bred percula clowns we got from there goo if your still looking for soem tmc had loaaaddsss!! and loadsa frogfish too! well weird in the flesh ... and stonefish tad ugly tooo!
