Hehe I just sat down at my desk to eat breakfast, and put the plate with the toast on it next to Temojin's tank. He was wildly trying to get through the tank at the plate, and I was thinking, what on Earth?? So I picked up a small piece of toast and showed it to him, and he was flaring at it like crazy! He always flares at my finger if I dip it into the water slightly, but toast is a new one on me!

Is there anything odd your fish flares at?

I have this decoration from florida that is in the shape of a surf board that has a painting of these 2 little people surfing and if its near any of my bettas tank they flare at it. Also the betta in the 1g used to flare at his pellets as they started to sink down then he ate them.

I forgot to mention the betta in the 1g flares at my finger and the betta in the 2.5g he doesn't waste anytime flaring he just goes for the "kill" and attacks my finger.

He doesn't flare at my cats, for some odd reason.

My CT Louie flares at this fuzzy pen that i set next to his tank one day. He has built it bubble nests, does dances for it, it is heartbreaking. Poor guy thinks this flashy green female is playing hard to get.
