Hi,
I currently have a 12gal juwel rekord 60 with the internal filter. The pump to power the filter has broke and i just bought a koralia 1. The koralia 1 takes up quite a lot of space. Should i remove the filter and have 38x flow or remove one of my powerheads (not koralia 1) and have 27x flow and 30x flow when i get the new juwel pump on waranty?

I am also puting in a tupperware pot that holds cheato, if i took out the filter, could this pot have some filter floss on either side to catch some debris. I cant have an external filter so that isnt an option. I currently do 10-20% weekly water changes as i have no skimmer.

Thanks
Will

I think it depends much on the livestock you got in there.

I have only two powerheads with 60 liters. The water is clear. When I add some food then the particles flow around for an hour or so. I have only a tubeworm that appreciates this but sessile invertebrates would surely do, too.

The more fish and messy eaters you have the more I would consider a skimmer or external filters.

i have 2 b/w occelaris clowns, 1 firefish , 2 cleaner shrimps and the CUC. I have a toadstool coral and he loves the flow yet i have a green xenia frag and a button frag and they havent come out.
