To feed or not to feed

Hi. I've got one 4" pleco (and growing) and 2 x 2 1/2" pleco and 3 gold algae eaters.

Every few days, maybe only once a week or so I blanch brocoli and peas etc for them to eat. I put in about 1/2 a cup full, or hand full or so. In the morning, every little morsal of it is gone.

I'm wondering if I need to feed them their vegies more often than this. Considering the big one is gonna be a big one.

I can't afford algae discs etc etc cos they're $10 here in NZ and I'm poor. But brocoli is $2.

Do I need to feed them more. I'm thinking maybe I do cause all my new plants have gradually vanished. I'm asking coz I don't wanna just go ahead and end up over feeding them and killing them ( I love them so) and I don't wanna polute my tank.

Can someone please give me some advice

I feed my plecs daily on sinking pellets and algae wafers, every other day they get some bloodworms or cucumber depending on the habits of the individual fish.

When you say you add cucomber is this blanched or raw?

blanched, you can also give them blanched zucchini (corgeutte)
