Afternoon all,

So I have taken the plunge and gone for a pressurised CO2 system - I purchased it off of e-bay for a bargain price.

It came with a TMC V2 Regulator and Solenoid, 2 x 20 oz CO2 cylinders and a JBL diffuser.

I still need to get a bubble counter and drop checker and CO2 tubing before i can get it all set up.

Just wondering if anyone has experience using this system, I have looked online and read positive reviews, but trust your opinions more.

Thanks all,

Chris

Hi all I am wondering whether anyone ever experimented with tyre inflator co2 cartridges? Usually about 16 gms. As I understand that would last around a week or abit more? Beats mixing yeast and cheaper than buying a cannister

Found this in another forum, though I am not too sure how safe this thing is ?

Since these cartridges were meant to be disposable and all, I'd hate if one blows in my hand.

Anyone knows how safe these cartridges are?

Hi there WLD. I have never considered using such a system because it sounds incredibly expensive to use. If you are replacing a cartridge every week, what does it end up costing to use the system? I use a 10 pound CO2 bottle, not a very large cost item to refill at about $12, and it lasts for about 6 months on my 40 gallon long tank. I simply cannot imagine the cost of replacing a cartridge every week instead. That must turn out to be real money over a 6+ month period.
