tire track eel, growth, help!

Can anyone help me? We have a tire track eel about 7 inches long. He has developed a red growth on his tail.It looks like an ulcer but is hard to touch. He has been removed from the tank he shared with an elephant nose and treated with Paragon. This hasn`t helped at all. He seems to be active but we can

Sorry about that, i didn`t finish the post before i pressed the wrong button, we are having a roof lift on the house and the rain is pouring in above the keyboard so i can`t pull it out properly!
Back to Lawrence, he eats after lights out so i don`t know if he eats still.
Please help, he has had this a week now.
