Just bought myself a nice new bridge camera, the Nikon L310 and I'm super happy with it.
Any suggestions for taking good aquarium photos? I'm guessing an ISO of about 800 due to the lighting conditions? Any other tips would be super as I'm an amateur when it comes to photography :D

Its not really the ISO you need to focus on when it comes to "animal" photography, it is your shutter speed. Don't use your flash at all otherwise it will reflect on the glass and if you have a tripod that will help for extra stablisation. I am still attempting to capture sharp images of my fish and i'm using a Canon 550D which is full SLR.
Try sport mode on your L310 see if that helps, I found that all the lights off and just the fish lights on was a nice shot. Stand and focus ona corner into the whole tank it looks really nice. When I did this I too was using a bridge camera and I was able to get nice scenery type images but none of the fish.

I'd say for this kind of image I would use about 1600 ISO and shutter speed of about 125 on a tripod with lights off in the room and just the fish lights on. Youtube is a great place to learn about ISOs and Shutter speeds and someone may have made a small tutorial for your camera its worth having a look.

Good luck :)!

Best advice I've had is to put the camera lens right up against the side of the tank :)

Thats brilliant advise, just what I was looking for thank you very much :D
Edit: seems because it was a budget end bridge camera I don't have much manual control over shutter speed, only ISO which is shame but after trying the higher ISO's out I found the best to be 400. I'm guessing its due to the camera automatically choosing unsuitable shutter speeds. But atleast at ISO 400 there is very little grain compared to 1600. Your advise has still been a great help though :good: :good:
