Hello,

I currently have a breeder tank of cherry shrimp and a mix of snails. I was looking at the baby snails when i noticed this white squiggly things ( tiny, tiny) at the surface, but they would dart around. What came to my mind where water fleas, does anyone know what they are?

My water params

78 degrees
7.0 Ph
no ammonia, no nitrite small amount of nitatre under 5. I do 25% water changes a week. There are only about 10 shrimp in there, but hundreds of baby snails....thanks for any help!

Cyclops and seed shrimp are often to be found in shrimp tanks, in fish tanks they get eaten, they do no harm and only breed in good water. They are nothing to worry about. Sometimes I put endler fry in the shrimp tank to have a feast and remove them after a couple of weeks before they become shrimplet eaters.

I have had those in most of my tanks, but mainly my planted tank. They are like little white specks that dart around above the substrate and in the plants. My fish do seem to eat them every now and then. I have had lots in my shrimp tank before, they didn't seem to cause any problems and the shrimp still multiplied like crazy.

I got a good colony of seed shrimp in my quarantine tank when I left it without fish for a month. They where actually amusing to watch. Like little drunk specks that swam in circles.

yes thats exactly what they look like, thanks i was just worried it would be some parasite, but the shrimp and snails are still multiplying so thats good. thanks for all the help.
