Is a 55 gallon large enough for tin foil barbs? I have an extra 55 that I thought might be nice to have some in.

IMO, a 55 Gallon is going to be too small for them. Something closer to 100 Gallons is probably more appropriate. They eat a TON, grow extremely fast, are very active, and can reach about a foot at adult size. They also prefer to be in groups, so 5+. I'd probably get a different type of fish if I were you. :good:

Hope this helps!

Are there any other barbs that are nice and sweet in character that are close to the size of the tiger barb? I would like tigers but I don't want the aggression

You could look @ the Pentazona Barb. They look similar to Tigers, but do not have the aggression. It's also known as the Five Banded Barb. I like the Panda Barb too, but I don't know much about them.

In my experiance you can eliminate aggression by having larger groups like 6-10 at least. Also Ruby Barbs can look pretty nice.
