I found some great pieces of driftwood for my tank over vacation. Brought em home and boiled the heck out of em, and put them in their own tank in my basement. They look great. But how long before they sink? Anyone know? Been in there now submerged for a little over a month. Waiting for them to sink so I can move em to my main tank.

They may not if they havent done so after a month. I suppose you could weight them down, or wedge them into place with a glass rod.

Try buying some bogwood. That sinks no problems.

my driftwood will never sink (or thats what i think) its been months and its still a pain in the but to clean it because im worried about it floating to the top.

i use rocks to anchor it but also some underwater epoxy will work...just glue some rocks to the base of it

you can see how i anchored it

If you have wood that just won't sink, attach it to a piece of slate with a single screw and bury the slate in your substrate. Depending on the angle of the slate to the wood you can have the wood look like its growing out of the bottom or like it is lying on the bottom.
