Nice pics u got. Yeah look monster, i guess they are baby monster lol.

Thanks for the nice words.
My "babies" are about 5" long, not monsters at all.
Digital cameras are a wonderfull thing for taking lots of pictures of them.
They are real show offs, and dont mind the constant flash from the camera.
Here is another picture of them.

:good:

Your fish and tank look AWESOME, I wish I had the room to have a large tank like you have.
My Oscars are crazy things, for some reason they are kicking all the plants around, and it looks like they are digging a huge hole!
Not sure if they are playing or what.
One other intresting fact about my "babies" I use to feed them 2-3 a day when i first got them.
I thihk they could eat 200-300 a day if the food was offered to them,!!!! thier feeding is now every second day and they seem to be going ok wit that.

digging holes and tearing up plants moving rocks around yes i said moving them around<mine do this>its all part of the mating ritual...not saying yours are going to pair of...is there lots of lip locking<kissing>flaring wiggling?

mine eat for england... prob would eat a english given half the chance...
thanks for comments....

got to ask you how big your tank is

I have seen them in lip lock once or twice. I thought they were just having a punch up.
They seem to be always very close to each other, they even sleep on top of each other, not sure if they are just scaredy cats or not.
MY tank isnt huge, 92L I think it is
But I only have the two oscars and five Jewel cichlids in there.
They seem to be doing fine, the oscars arent aggressive towards the other fish.

Not for me to dictate how somebody looks after thier fish  but 92L is not big enough!!
I probably have the same size tank as nelly (300L-400L). Chilids with them too, and im thinking they need a new home.
They grow very fast and it wont be long before they turn nasty to each other and those wround them...

Sorry if that sounds harsh....

But good luck anyhow enjoy them........

At this stage they seem to be going well. they arent supe active so I will just keep an eye on them and see what happens.
I would love a larger home for them, but I have other commitments and getting a larger tank is not one of them at this stage.

Are you having a laugh yo9ur keeping two oscars and 5 jewels in a 92ltr tank thats 24g 1 oscar alone need 75g I think you need to sort out you priorities mate you say they are real close and sleep almost on top of each other well thats cause there is no room. If you can not upgrade there tank now you need to rehome these fish.

yeah not only is it a penomenally bad idea to just put two oscars together and hope they pair off, you need a 125gal tank to keep two in.

please sort this out before you come downstairs to a bloodbath, it's all well and good to say they are fine now but they are juvi's, it's when they reach 10-12" (roughly 1 yr - 18 months old) that trouble will start, you may get no warning whatsoever that they aren't getting on and you'll just find one of them dead one day.

that's not breeding behaviour at 5" long, way too young for it, that's just typical oscar behaviour, virtually all of them will dig up substrate, destroy plants and generally cause havoc

Nellys tank is 5x2x2 = 566L = 148 US Gallons = 125 Imperial Gallons

so not quite
300L = 78 US Gallons = 66 Imperial Gallons

400L = 105 US Gallons = 88 Imperial Gallons
:shifty:

There is lots of room in the tank, they only ever use about 1/4 of the space that is there.
They very rarely go to the back of the tank. always at the front waiting for food.

My priorities are fine thank you.
I am not a some one who can afford to upgrade fish tank, tv, cars etc every 6 months.
I will NOT rehome the fish as yet. they are doing fine at the moment, if they get too large for the tank THEN I will do something.

they won't get too large for the tank, they'll be horribly stunted and die from it before yuo realise they are getting a bit big.

however you obviously are not prepared to listen to reason so I will not argue the point any further and I would recommend others do the same instead of turning this post into a riot.

:rip: poor oscars
