Time For Salt To Dissolve?

Hi as the title suggests I was wondering how long salt takes to dissolve fully in water and is safe to add to my tank?

Have you got it up to temperature of the tank and a powerheaed mixing it in?

Most people leave it for 24hrs to fully mix before adding to the tank.

Sorry, I can't remember if your tank is up and running or are we talking abut a new tank?

Where are you mixing your water and how?

when did you put the salt in?

is the water up to temp?

what is the SG?

Sorry should have put more info, I am slowly turning my puffer tank brackish. I have just mixed 6 tablespoons into a 10ltr bucket (this has brought the sg in the bucket up to 1012. The tank size is approx 60ltrs (taking into account dispacement) The temp in the bucket is 28...far too warm! Tank temp is 27


Just checked the sg again and its between 1012 and 1014 now..maybe need to wait till the morning to add it to the tank ( I mixed it at around 3pm today)
