i think i was just lucky with my last tigrinus as it was always hungry eating food and active

as i have a new aro project i had to sell my big 22inch tigrinus and got a small 12inch one

well that was 2 weeks ago and it is showing no intrest in food at all strange no change in water parameters or anything

it better eat fast as the rules in my tank are eat or die

Do you know what it was previously eating at the LFS or where ever you go it from?

Damn.
Maybe it's just got a shy personality. Which as you say will probably end up killing it down to lack of food.

have you tryed live food yet to see if its being fussy????im pretty sure you would have lol.

I got 4 a couple of months ago, Ive lost one and the other 3 seem fine now after a iffy start. But CFC warned me that they have a high mortality rate as youngsters. i tried feeding allsorts and at one point he did start feeding but then his colour went and he coward in the corner untill he died

Good luck with yours.

i hope it comes round :good:
those cats can go a long time without eating
my juruense is also sulking and not eating since i moved him to the 300,that must be 2 weeks ago now
theres not a lot you can do besides keep offering

i NEVER use feeders

the best i can do for him is river shrimp even if i put £20 worth in the tigers will clean that up in less than 4mins

we will see what happens its not small a good fat 12inch

it has the option eat or die

my kids dont like peas but if thats all i gave them they would eat them

I find with newly purchased catfish and many finicky oddballs that offering very small pieces of food will get them interested in feeding when they refuse larger sized pieces, a one inch tail end piece of a whitebait seems to be a favourite.

what was it eating before you got it out of interest?
what sort of fish is it used to sharing with?and how are your other fish treating it?

i think it had a bit of a shock with the rays as he had never seen rays before and the 1st thing they done was chew his tail to bits

he wasnt doing the same thing all the other tigs i have had done which is swim verticaly all the time in the tank corner but he started to do that today which is good as now he is out of the rays way

hes looking a bit beter today swimming in the corner as now i can just try to drop food in his mouth like i have done with every other tig i have owned
