this morning i found my tiger shrimp dead.

at first i thought it was one of my cherries... but no... my seethrough tiger has gone pinking white right through - just like when you cook prawns....

there is no heating in my tank - it stays at correct temp with my room temp

is it possible for my shrimp to be cooked? howw?? there is no explanation!

or ... is this the colour tiger shrimp go when they die??

all my other shrimp and fish are happily swimming about....

any thoughts on this bizarre occurrence?

Dead shrimps always go that colour. They change from sort of transluscent to opaque and pink. At least, mine did, both tigers and cherries - even the cherries managed to change colour (I've given up trying to keep tigers and cherries now). Don't know if amanos change colour as none of mine have died.

phew! thanks guys, i was really worried!

im not sure why he died though :/

i did a water change yesterday, 50% - so it might be shock. i heard they suffer badly from shock.

Shrimp are very sensitive little critters. Shock from fresh water could be a cause although it is more likely that when you did the water change you stirred up a lot of rubbish that may have now polluted the water. I usually bung a bag of carbon into my filter when I do a major clean-up of my shrimp/fry tank just incase. *touch wood* nothing has dropped dead for a long time since.
