A zebra shovelnose (Brachyplatystoma tigrinum) might be a better option as it tops out at two feet, but watch the price...
Tank is far too small, the TSN gets to 4 feet long. Minimum size really would be a 12x8x4.

how about leiarius marmoratus, false perrunichthys? i think they grow to 20inches
the species most commonly imported under the name of perruno are Leiarius longibarbus (formerly marmoratus) which grows to around 3 feet in length
