On the other point - cross breeding plecs is not something I agree with - With quite a lot of plecs from the same species (eg Pekoltia's or Ancistrus) they will cross breed - leaving you with fry that cant Be ID'd as they are a hybrid - these then get back into the chain and its downhill from there...
