Hello!

I'm after some info on tiger loaches.

I was going to get one and put him in my 16UK Gal tank until my cycle is finished on my 44uk Gal

With my current stock in the 16gal would this be a good idea? Esp My amano Shrimp! Crunch!
How aggressive are they?
Would it pester my corys?

My plans for my 44gal are to stock it with semi aggressive fish such as a few African butterflys and a Black Ghost Knife.
Would a tiger loach get eaten?

One more question if I may...
Do tiger loaches eat snails. I dont have a problem with snails in my tank but rather than net the odd few out if the loaches took care of them for me that would be jolly spiffing!!!

Edit CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT GETTING 3 TIGERS AS THEY ARE AGGRESSIVE.

There are a few species that I have seen go under this name, the one I have seen come under it the most often is Botia berdmorei which I have also seen labled as Panther Loach, here is some more information on that species; http://fish.orbust.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=35037 . However, other similar species like Botia Helodes also can come under that common name.

I wouldn't put any loaches with shrimp or snails. I had some shrimp and my loaches had some shrimp...the I had no shrimp. if you catch my drift. I would wait until the cycling is done with your other tank. But that's just my experience. :-(

Not to mention a 44 gallon is too small for a fish that gets up to 10"
Its' also too small for a BGK which gets over 18"
Keeping a fish in a tank that is too small will stunt its growth and internal organs resulting in an unhealthy fish that will die way before its life expectancy.
The african butterfly fish sound good for that tank though;)
perhaps a red tailed shark or something instead of the BGK?
