Tiger Barbs

I currently have 3 Clown Loaches, 2 Firemouths, 1 Severum in my 55 gallon.. Would it be alright to add a school of tiger barbs? If so how many 10-15 or less or what? Or any other suggestions??

Your tank seems pretty well stocked; I wouldn't add the tiger barbs.

Hmm, thats odd.. I thought I remember a while back someone saying it was okay.. perhaps it was my imagination.

Tiger barbs would work, and with cichlids you want the school as large as you can for their own comfort and safety. Whether there is room is something you need to judge based on how much of the tank is used by the cichlids already, keeping in mind adult sizes - tiger barbs will need a decent amount of swimming space, and won't be 'happy' if they're forced to a corner of the tank.
