Only Have 3 barbs 2 fight i would say say once a day and the other just stay's there watching possible picking a mate well theats what the behaviour looks like to me

I read on the net that males have red nose and more red on fin's

i suspect top one to be male and bottom female as the bottom one is always pale looking :good:

what you guys think ?

Yes, I think you're probably right.
What other fish do you have with them and what size tank is it?
I ask only because it would be best if you could get at least another 3 to go with them.
Much as I love them, they are a fish that can give you no end of problems if they're not in a large enough group.

EDIT; I've just looked at your tanks in your profile and you've got a whole world of problems going on there mate....
You need to get the plecs and the oscars re-homed or in a much bigger tank ASAP. You need to get the betta and the tiger barbs separated as well.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you're going to have very big problems very soon the way things are.

Just those 3 and two Golden barbs got a new tank for the barbs alone got a mirrord back so it looks like i got 6 do that count lol, the plecs are going back to the shop next week, the betta is in his own tank with a mate and the oscars and the perch staying in other tank so until father christmas comes that's all i can do :good: been reading the forum thats when i knew it was going pete tong mainly from bad advice from lfs

I don't think you can count reflections as part of a shoal! Nice try ;)

As long as they're away from the betta, that's the main thing. :good:

Glad the plecs are going back too, that's great.

You're not the first and you won't be the last to get bad advice from an LFS! Good luck sorting out a bigger tank for the oscars; they're great fish, I've got an albino tiger oscar and me and my kids love him to bits :)

Well it was worth a try i rather cover the mirror anyways just dont know how as its part of the tank  , betta has been separated for a few months now , but he never got nipped by the barbs he was the naughty one attacking them

Plec's are not going back to the shop now , rang him this morning saying i will have to return them & if he could give me a discount of a piece of wood or food or fake plants, all i got was i'll take them but i cant give you anything for them, even though i paid £20 each for them 6 months ago in the same shop and there selling them at the size mine are now for £35 @ 5.5 inches thats the last time i buy anything from him :good: have to risk a hour bus trip for all my next fish at a lfs miles away.
