After being forced to take my shoal of Tiger Barb out of my tank, due to their bullyish and niping nature, I found I still had two that were hiding still in the tank when i returned home....I have of course taken them out....

I have a fighting fish and a couple of others that may look a bit tasty to them........the question....

Do you think it is safe to put them back in the tank...or does the fact that there are just 2 of them increase there raw nature...making them a threat to other more dosile fish in the tank? or would you give them away?

Cheers all

It depends on what other fish you have in the tank. Its best to keep tiger barbs in groups of 6 or more. This makes them focus all their attention on each other and not the other fish. If they are in a tank with slow moving or long finned fish they are probably going to nip at them no matter what you do. I have heard a lot of people having problems with tiger barbs fin nipping.

Good Luck

Tiger barbs won't nip other fish if the tank and the shoal are big enough. Though even then I wouldn't mix them with corydoras- usually tigers nip them to death.
