What would be a good species set up for a 30 US gallon tank? Would a school of 5 Tiger Barbs, 2-3 Cherry Barbs,5 Zebra Danios and 4 Cory Cats be compatible? Could i even add 2-3 Tetras or would that be pushing it?

I think you'd be better off with 4-5 fast swimming boistrous tetras and loose the Cherry Barbs. Tigers don't normally bother Cherries, but 5 tigers is a small group, and cherries are easily picked on.

I added a Red tailed Black shark to my tank... Gave him some caves and hiding spots and he has no problems with Tigers...he does the chasin :D ...But hes not agressive..just flares his fins and makes em run.....Never catches them though :shifty: Plus hes a great looking fish

check out my sig.... a my other fish are fine with the barbs but it takes a cpl weks to adj...when the cards were likl they hid a bit now there tough guys lol everyone partys!!!!

That's a sweet looking tank you got!!!

thx i had it entered in the APRIL TOTM comp..but for some reason i got screwed, lol was nominated twice too..oh well thanks for the compliment, good luck with the barbs!!! as i say, when i 1st put in the cards, they chased um a lil bit but in a cpl days everything was back to normal, i think tiger barbs arnt really violent, :kana: but just playful, anytime new fish come in they have a new game to play with them of tag lol.....good luck.........

the more tigers, the better :)
The first non-feeder-guppie inhabitants of my 75 gallon: 11 Tiger Barbs! They school together so damn cool!

There were 3 feeder guppies but Bundy, the loner Tiger Barb tried to eat the smallest one within 5 minutes of landing in the tank.

He just swam around hiding under stuff with the front half of a dying guppy sticking out of his mouth for at least 10 minutes before giving up and spitting the dead, tail-finless guy out.

The last two guppies, which were a bit larger, seem unmolested, although they do get chased around a bit at feeding time, when the tigers go berserk.

Awesome.

Hey bartender in ny: what a great looking tank and with artificial plants. I'm green with envy :alien: :alien:
Keep entering the totm, your time will come :D
