how do you sex them
how easy are they to breed
and whats a good male to female ratio

Immensely easy to sex,I have 5,3 females,2 males,really should get some more!!The males have long flowing fins,the females have short fins.
I'll pass on the rest as I have no plans to breed.

Ye long fins are males, short finned and more silver fish are females.

Dead easy to breed too.

Get several spawning mops or lots of java moss.
All i did was put in 2-3 mops or clups of moss
Remove them every 2-3 days to a hatching/rearing tank

This was in hard water at around 74F and i had lots of fry most weeks.
Fry will take newly hatched brine shrimp, but always worth growing some micro worms to help small fry.

they will be in a comunnity tank do you think any fry will survive
i was was going to get 5 so would 2 males 3 females be ok

Nope

The fry will just make a lite lunch, thats if the eggs don't get eaten first.

ow i might be able to set up a small tank just before they have them for them to fo in

the once down my lfs are 1 inch and cost £1
