Hello all,

I was debating to get a peacock goby with my Cories and harlequin rasboras. Would this work? I haven’t seen them get talked about much so hopefully someone could have some advice for caring for them. Here’s my water parameters

29g
Ammonia: .1 (doing water change today)
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
Ph 7.4
Gh: 160 ppm
Temp: 72-75

By peacock goby, do you mean peacock gudgeon (Tateurndina ocellicauda)?
If so this species is not a goby, it is a gudgeon.

And if this is the species you are speaking of, we'd have to know how many corydoras you would have along with the tank dimensions...

I love this species. I've even raised the fry

Yes that is the species I meant. Not sure why I thought it was a goby Apolgies. But I have 9 Cories currently they are from about .5 to 1.5”

And what is the dimensions of your 29g?
I ask because peacock gudgeons are bottom-mid dwellers as well and the males need their own caves (the caves can be really small)

The tank is a 30x12x18. I have a few of these log caves on the bottom

Peacock gudgeons like really small caves, they will breed in caves so small you'd wonder how both fish managed to fit in there together. I've kept these fish in the past but Rocky has been much more successful with breeding them than I was.

They should be ok together. If you're doing 9 corydoras, I would do 3 gudgeons. 1 male and 2 females

They probably would, but with other fish in the tank either the eggs would be eaten or the fry would once they hatch and the father kicks them out of the cave.

Add all the other fish you want first and then the gudgeons as well... This will help ensure aggression doesn't get out of hand an will also possibly prevent fry
