Ok you all know I was going to breed them but I didn`t,instead me and my dad might be getting 2 more bettas today, perhaps one female and male.Well I put Val in my 20 gal tank with my 6 other fish and she had horizontal stripes?I heard they mean stress? And she was losing her color  I was worried and she tried nipping at the other fish and her and Lyle kept looking at each other through the glass windows.Well I decided why not,so I put a divider in Lyle`s tank and put Val on the other side. She got her color back and it`s actually vertical stripes now. They just can`t stay away from each other

ya, stress stripes don't always necesarily mean they're stressed. i have a girl who is active everyday, happily swimmin around her tank, and it don't matter what i do to keep her happy, she always has her horizontal stress stripes. UNLESS of course i put her near my mustard gas male. she suddenly turns from pale white to black/red. she's not interested in anyone else. just my sunset.

yup. fishy love. lol. keep her near your lyle, and it may keep her happy...if not, then she's probably just hard to please!!! lol.

Lol I came back from the LPS and the Crowntail wanst there anymore! :-( Godarnit,I should`ve bought the crowntail when I had a chance :grr:

Well, you will have a better luck to find another one next time for sure. :) I hope he got a special treatment in his new owner. As for the earlier about the pair, I would put in back to where it is belongs since they get to know each other already. It will be lonely for her because they are not betta. :) I have experiencing 2 pairs betta before and they just want to be side by side. :D
