hi, i was just wondering what the noise levels will be like, im goin to be getting a 180 litre tank, and was wondering how noisey the power heads and skimmer will be?

thanks :good:

thats great news was a bit worried, could i use them pruducts for my 180litre tank, if so can you link me these please. thanks again :good:

ive got a 55 gallon in my bedroom i cn sleep easily. and mines a little noisy cos of the skimmer but thats it,.

www.aquatics-online.co.uk does them at a good price, i wouldn't bother going into your LFS, you'll end up paying about £30 for the 1200 when you can get them for just over £20 online.

I would say the skimmer is the most noisy part. I'm not sure if turning off the skimmer at night would be a good idea though. On the other hand, the noisy part of the skimmer would be the air pump. You can put the airpump in a closet to get rid of most off the noise.

Agreed. I run my 45g with a sump that sucks a lot of air in my bedroom and I dont have any problems sleeping with it. Its got 2 modded MJ1200's for flow, a skimmer, and a Danner Mag 7 for the sump and I really dont notice the noise. Heck, my fans for my light fixture are louder than the pumps...

Its a diffrent story for me :/ . I have some trouble sleeping at night because of the powerhead and the filter sometimes makes a trickling noise if the water lvl is too low.But other than that, its fun and entertaining. I have the tank right beside my bed so when im bored I just stare at it until I get drowsy.
