Swiming in a pond. ...no, not really.
Not sure what type he is, but all of them in the lfs tank seem healthy and happy. The one I'd like to get is about an inch to an inch and a half. He's going into a 10G tank with four female Beta fish, the tank's average temp is 78 degrees. Is there any sort of special food I should get for him, or is the beta pellets and algea enough?

My grandmother had a few about 6" long in her 70G tank, and I've wanted one ever since.

Would need to know which one you intend to get, even a common name would be better than nothing. Although I can tell you now that betta pellets and algae is not enough. Too often people get told that plecs will do fine on the algae or eating the other fishes crap...it's not true. Plecs should have as much thought given to their diet as any other fish that you might own...

Find out what the plec is that you want to get and then people can advise you on it's correct diet (assuming it will live in an 10g tank).

your only going to be able to fit a pitbull plec or bulldog plec in that sized tank, others will be too big!

personally i would say it is too small for any pleco. threads over the last few months would indicate that any fish of more than 3 inches, is really too big for 10 gallons. 20g would allow you to go for the smaller plecos letting you have fish of 4 or so inches. on a 20 gallon if it is long, you could get up to 5 or so. lol tank needs to be wide enough though too.

are you telling that to me since you've quoted my response?
