i know in time whatever tank the ornatums are in that i will have to move some on, maybe keeping a trio or pair but as they are still quite a way from fully grown and currently about 4.5-6 inch ish so will be fine for a while.

my concerns would be that there are too many fish in the 60x18x24......

the reason for the possible swap would be to give Keith maximum room and the TSNXRTC and megaladoras wouldnt be out compete for food and again giving them the maximum space i can. the banded headstander is getting quite large now too so he would be better off in the bigger tank.

the BGK is currently for sale for £20 ono so that will hopefully free up a bit of space and give less competition for the catfish for food.

what d'ya think?

SOunds reasonable. Keith and the big cat will certainly appreciate the extra depth in the larger tank.

Whatever you do at the moment, I know you're aware that you are constantly going to be needing to thin out stock from all tanks as they grow.

I'm waiting for the Barbs and FM to be thinned out.
:grr: the firemouth will be staying in with the ornatums im affraid but the barbs might have to go when the ornatums get bigger......

as it happens ive just been trying to get a few pics while doing a water change. they never keep still but all huddle up when i do a change so i grabbed the chance to get a pic of them... they have lost a bit of colour due to the water change but its the best i could get

They really are good! They had some xl spanners at wharf the other weekend... Very tempted, but £7.50 each!

large barbs do demand quite high prices at the minute. if i remember right i bought 9 originally and they cost me about £70 with a deal for the group buy. they were also quite a bit smaller than they are now......
ive seen these barbs locally that are tiny, i mean less than an inch and half for £3.50 each
