I'm thinking of getting a pleco for my 15 gallon Hexagon Tank. I can't really get full dimensions because of the shape. Ideally I'd like an Imperial Pleco but I know they can cost a h*** of a lot. Can anyone suggest a pleco that looks slightly like that or is at least striped really nicely? Oh, I'll need possible prices for the pleco(s) you mention...

No point in suggesting one... if you have a hex tank at 15g it will only be a foot wide at it's widest point(roughly) which isn't big enough for any species... i would try otto's if the tank is mature or possibly one of the pygmy varieties of cory.

See the thing is, It's over a foot wide at it's widest point. It's about 1 1/2' tall. I also don't want Otto's or cories. Otto's because the last one I had killed his other oto friends and then killed anymore that I put with him. Cories because I had a small group of these and I just don't find them as cute or funny as a lot of other people do.

It may well be over a foot wide but by how much?... im thinking literally a couple of inches which still isnt big enough. The height has no real relivence with plecs so disgard the height completely.

Basically the tank in both aspects... size and water volume isnt big enough.

I'll pass then unless I find an imperial pleco for an incredibly cheap price, say £20
I was thinking smaller than 4" long because I currently breed paradise fish in this tank and the male is 3" long so far and still growing. I know imperial pleco's only grow 3.2" so that's why I said unless I find one that's incredibly cheap.

It would make no differecne, the tank would be to small for zebra's aswell... zebra's will surplas 3.5 inches. I presume your looking at planet catfish for sizes?... these are sizes without tail and are average sizes to boot.. with tail your looking at 4.4.5 inch minimum (average), i had a couple of 5 inches (males but ive seen females equally as big). They would also be better in a species own tank.

Basically no matter what plec you are looking at, a 1 foot(ish) floor space isnt big enough :good:.

No I was looking at one of the topics on here. OK then, I'll pass on anything else to put in that tank. I just wanted something different for the tank.

Dont be disheartened, there are plenty of catfish that i would imagine be suitable... pygmy cory's probably been the most obvious (aslong as they are suitable with current stock.. sorry i know nothing about paradise fish). Im sure others will chime in with other catfish that also would be suitable.... only if your not oposed to anything other than plecs that is?.

I don't want cory's. I had 3 males before and they started bothering the other fish once they got to 2" plus.
