Hey ppl,
Should be getting a new set-up soon and I'm thinking of having it as a cichlid tank. It will probably be a 3-4ft tanks and im planning on having caves and a well planted tank.

I'm looking for suggestions of what cichlids to have, in rescent research I have took an interest to convicts and malawis, but i also hear that they are quite expensive.

Any suggestions is a help.

Thanks Matt B smile.gif

I would go with a kenyi cichlid, but give him three girlfriends or none at all. Give them plenty of hiding places. I've had my kenyi now for about a year, and it has such a good personality.

i hear people talking about fish having a personality but how? ive never kept fish so im clueless... hence the name. what kinda things do they do ect?

A fishes personality is not like, when you walk in a room it tackles you saying daddy, daddy, daddy. It's personality is based on when you sometimes walk into a room , your fish will seem like it's greeting you. Dashing out of it's little caves, following you around the room. And if your fish likes, and trust you, you can handfeed your fish. It's really cool.

all my fish know when ist food time...so to make sure i remember they all swarm around a corner of the tank...its really cool!

I'm a relative noob too

I've had goldfish as a child but this is my first tropical set up.

It's pretty amazing to see all the fish crammed at one end of tha tank when you go near it.

I can hand feed my tiger barbs too
