Thinking About Building A Metal Stand

I have been thinking about getting a metal tank stand build for my future 6x2x2 tank,

Is there anyone here that know prices of the steel tubes, im going to be using 2"x2", steel tubing,

Basically if you have seen samuk's new 6x2x2 tank with a metal stand, now thats what i want for my 6x2x2,

I really prefer this to using the stand that can come as a package from the tank maker, as I can use the space under the tank to put some more tanks there ! and also its very strong.


I already know how I am going to build it, just now need to find prices for the steel,

OH and incase your wondering who's gonna cut it all up and weld it together, my dads gonna do that !

So the max prefebly that i am willing to spend will be 220, as thats the difference in price from buying the tank and stand combo, does anyone think that roughly £220 should get me 17 metres of 2x2 steel tubing? (this includes extra braces that i added in for the bottom part to hold more tanks.

So any comment at all will do a great help.

I just found a online supplier of steel, and its 22.65 for 7.5 metres of 50x50 hollow square tubing, with a 3mm thick wall, so I worked out for what i want to build i need 3 x 7.5 bars. ! I wasnt expecting it to be this price, i was thinking like £200 pounds for the steel,

I wont be buying from the internet as they chage 30 pounds for 7 day delivery , i just wanted a guide price,
