Wel basically im thinkng of setting up a spare 60l tank for dwarf puffers and was after a bit of advice

Ive read the above guides but im more confused than when i started lol. Ive currently got a 350l malwi tank but fancied somethin different and whilst looking around in lfs i saw some tiny little figure8? puffers. id love maybe 3 or 4 of these in the 60l, filtration will be good with over 10x and hour turnover and i dont mind doing 50% water changes weekly as its only going to mean changing 30l lol (try changing 150l with a bucket).

My question is would this work? 4 figure 8 puffers in a 60l tank? Im aware there messy eaters and produce a lot of waste but like i said if stay on top of things would that be ok?

Thanks in advance

mat

Fig 8's and Dwarf Puffers are different species mate.

Fig 8's need brackish water too. check the pinned topics at the top of the forum, they helped me a lot when i was setting up my Dwarf Puffer tank :)

So assuming i set the tank up as brackish with the necessary salt etc. would the fig 8s be ok or would they get too big?

from what ive read they seam ok, but like i said im more confused than when i started looking

I wouldn't put 3 in a 15 gal tank.
These are messy and very teritorial fish.

I wouldn't put them in a 60L! The minimum tank size for one is recomended at 50L/15 US gallons although I have to say looking at the size of mine now I wouldn't want to put it in a 50L tank!

I have 2 in a 140L metre long tank that's over filtered to the max but they really are messy! They poop to win medals and eat meaty foods that really mess up the water  GREAT fish in the right sized tank though.

I have 4 DPs in a 60L tank (technically overstocked for the recommended 20L per fish) that's also very overfiltered. It's heavily planted (silk plants are a godsend) and they love exploring it all! :D
