The day before yesterday I did a 100% water change on my split tank..holds about 3 gallons. Yesterday the oldest one in the split looked a bit mopey but he is my oldest...now this morning the other one looks the same..I have added stress coat and de chlorinator which I am sure I did anyway..but there is like a film on top of tank....OK I am going to use my own judgement and do a total water change again...I think...they are coming up for air but are sitting on bottom of tank. I used same water in a smaller tank for another betta and he is fine. :look: trouble is I have run out of testing kit and I have also run out of money!

hmm try the water change and see how they are Liz, sounds a bit wierd that one in the other tank is fine with same water change though :dunno:

:S changed the water and fingers crossed they seem OK. I have also changed the tank back to a smaller one...Got a horrible idea that the bigger tank is the one I had a goldfish in, and this has happened before. Nothing wrong with goldfish, tank has been cleaned, but we shall see....

I had a tank exactly like this one (lethargic betta with greasy film at the top of the water). I'd recommend emptying it, then scrubbing everything in the water to rid it of the grease. That's what I did for mine, and it was peachy-keen after that.

:hyper: gotta have been the tank, both fish are now OK...they are old guys but are coming to see me when I look at them. :good: for replies
