in my haste to treat my tank containing some infected ANGELS I neglected to think about possible issues with snails and shrimps I have.

I've treated the tank with eSHA Hexamita which contains copper sulphite (just read the ingredients)

Think I will be waking up to a handful of assasin snail, MTS and amano shrimp corpses.

stupid mistake.

hmmmm....but maybe not?

http://www.eshalabs.eu/pages_eu/faqs_engels.html

I thought inverts simply would not tolerate copper?

Well let's hope. Would like someone to be able to explain why copper sulphite is not a problem?

well if they dont like copper then copper sulphite may be different... like chlorine - poisionous untill it gets in with sodium and then you have salt.

Just a thought though

yeah, you might be right......could be the compound is not a toxix one to inverts.

No could not see any signs of deaths this morning. Several assassins still roaming around and none of the amano have died.

If all your snails die there is a good chance of a tank wipe, the amount of ammonia a single dead snails gives if is amazing

depends on what snail, pomacea give off a lot of ammonia but other snails give off hardly any.
