They're at it again!

A little less than a month ago I posted about my big mama and papa bronze and albino corys spawning a huge amount of eggs. Well, it's happening all over again. This is their second day of spawning.

The problem this time is that they are doing it in their 20 gallon long tank, which was my main cory tank until I moved most of them into the 55 gallon. This is where they live along with some of the remaining fish from my community tank: 3 blind cave fish, a couple of guppies and 2 male gouramis. Now everyone has been moved into the 55 making it terribly overcrowded and I will still have to find a place to put the big mamas and papas when the eggs start to hatch!

Not to mention that the fry from last month's batch are still in their original tank because the tank I set up to take half of them is being used as a hospital tank for the new C. melinis. Now, even when they are well, I have no place to move them to.

I guess it's time to set up more tanks.

I love that they are spawning again for you. In my mind I have a picture of what your place looks like..... where are you going to put another tank?

You could try a divider screen if you don't want to invest in another tank.

A divider screen wouldn't be enough, I'm afraid.

I think the time has come to take some of my bigger fry to the lfs. It's just that I hate to do that. They are my babies, after all.

The big mamas are still spawning and this batch looks like it will be even bigger than the last one when they were just recovering from the bacterial infection they had. I think I'll have to try to empty one or two of the 20 gallon fry tanks AND set up a couple more 10 gallon ones.

Fortunately, I have some tanks I've bought but never used, but I'll need another air pump and some heaters.

This is a very addictive hobby, after all.
