They Gave Me A Rosy Barb

I went to the LFS today to pick up neon tetras, and golden barbs. I wasn't paying enough attention and when I got home I realized they gave me a cherry barb.
They're giving me a free golden barb in return, and told me not to bring the cherry back, but now I'm stuck with a cherry and I don't really want 5 more. Will the cherry be okay in there until I can find it a better home? It may take a few months

if they told you not to return them, tell them where to go and just do it.

I would assume that they say don't bring it back because they don't want to stress you and the fish by netting, bagging and travelling etc. I would bring it back as you and they know it is a schooling fish.

I have sworn to never give that place business as of today, so I'll be getting my free fishy, and giving this one to a different, more reliable, local fish store. I'm treating the whole tank for ick, then I'll send him on his way. He's a beautiful little fish!
