The fish came last night! I was so excited! My roommate is happy... she was very pleasently surprised.
The one I got isn't the same as in the picture, but I'm still very happy with him. He's a gorgeous blue CT who goes from light blue to dark blue depending on his mood. So, I named him Daemerung, which is the german word for twilight.
My roommates fish is a beautiful green irridecent CT. She's a maths geek, so she named hers Cauchy (rhymes with yoshi), Cauchy the maths fish.
(Cauchy was a famous mathematician, mostly known for calculus and abstract algebra.)
I was a little worried about Daemerung at first... Cauchy settled right in, but Daemerung worried me. He was swimming and jumping like mad in his little bag, and when I let him out, he went straight to the bottom and just lay on the gravel. He came up every once in a while for air, but he acted like it took a lot of effort. But, once he had been here a while, he started getting a little more adventerous, and I fed him a couple blood worms. He perked right up after that. He already knows me, and he knows I'm the one who gives him food. When I'm at my desk, he's right at the front of the tank wiggling his gorgeous little tail.
He just has so much personality! When I'm not paying attention to him, he and Angel flare at each other (Their tanks are next to each other.) He also can't figure the blood worms out. He would watch them float to the bottom, then he'd get his "nose" right up next to it, then he would grab it off the gravel. One slipped under a piece of gravel, and he rooted for it until he got it. I wonder if the breeder just dropped food in, because Cauchy did the exact same thing. It's kinda funny to watch, though.
They have settled in well. I'll get some pics tonight.
