These colors never run....

I noticed that my red betta, Lionfish, is changing color a bit. He has a blue spot at the front base of his dorsal fin and at the base of his tail fin. Are color changes normal or do they signify something is wrong?

I imagine it depends on the color change. If it's getting "prettier" or darker, I would think in most cases it means an improvement in their health. But changing colors....maybe when they mature they start to get their "true" colors.
